The Bible is Confrontational

Often times we think of church the way that the world thinks of it, a place that affirms our prevailing social beliefs.  However, the bible tells us otherwise.  Infact, God’s teaching are used to convict us and demonstrate love and salvation through Jesus.  According to Pastor Tim Chaddick, “The word of God is corrective.  Do you know what that means in practical application?  Church will always be confrontational…a Jesus of your own making will never challenge and never change you because you created him.  That’s what pop culture tells you.  Go to a religious center so that they can just simply affirm what you already believe.  The message of the bible is far different.  Come so that the idols of your hearts would be exposed, challenged, and destroyed and replaced with Jesus Christ.  A Jesus of your own is not going to challenge you and it will not change you.”

My car literally exploded, and flew several feet back from the impact. I blacked out, and when I finally came through I remembered smelling battery acid and burning electrical wires.

Answering the Call

Hello,

My name is Al. I met Dan at the Derekstar Art Show in downtown Los Angeles last month.

My testimony centers around how God has totally transformed me from the person I once was. Throughout my years of schooling I was known as the quiet kid, the shy kid who only answered questions when called upon. A classmate of mine in the 8th grade even jokingly told me she thought I was a spy because I was so quiet. Furthermore, while in middle school I longed to have a “cool personality” that would cause me to be liked by the “cool” kids. I did not consider myself much of a leader and I occasionally struggled with my self-esteem.
