Have you ever asked God for a loud and clear confirmation for your career? Our foreign correspondent Alex shares an amazing story which comes all the way from Europe.
How do you hear from God? For the longest time I was so frustrated because I always heard people around me “getting downloads” while I was apparently deaf.
Everything changed about a year ago. I was really seeking God’s direction and guidance, I was faced with several big decisions, one of which being a big career move – leaving LA and transferring to Europe. This made me uneasy and I was absolutely starving for God’s direction. I went back to what I knew and that was the Truth from the Bible. Jesus says,
“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks the door will be opened” (Luke 11:9-10).
And boy did I start knocking.

Our Voice Alex brings to light a very relevant subject about God’s role in science, especially in today’s society of modern science. This conflict (and occasional concord) is known to go way back to the days when the Catholic Church and the first few scientists were contesting tradition vs. progress. Working in the field as a scientist, Alex presents his own experience and explains that what he does actually reconciles with what he believes in - God.
I have always liked science. Big fan. It’s actually one of my passions and I pursued it by completing a technical degree and choosing it as the starting point of my career. Throughout the whole process, I never once felt that at any point in my science-based education, my studies would clash with my complete confidence in God’s existence, perfection and Grace.

Our foreign correspondent, Alex shares his adventure to pursue His Voice. We follow his story across the globe all the way to London.
How does God speak to you? I was really frustrated because for the longest time I felt that all my brothers in Christ hear Him so much better than me – but I hear nothing. Until recently I learned that He speaks to me exactly how I need can to hear Him.
I recently transferred to London for work – doing the job I’ve been dreaming of since I was young. Before I left LA, I prayed that I would not leave unless I knew for a fact that God will be with me EVERY single step of the way. No way would I want to move half-way across the globe against His will.
I feel like I’m drinking from a fire hose every week. For example last week was rough in terms of business and personal life – very busy and was feeling like I was taking a huge beating and seeing no hope. On top of that, I had a huge meeting which came out from nowhere on Friday and I had no idea how to handle it: I had to get people on another continent to participate remotely at 2am their time. It was 7pm on Thursday night - I had already done all I could to prepare– there was no way I could be ready by next morning. Feeling completely and totally overwhelmed all I could think of was that I need to just surrender it all to God. And I did – literally. My prayer was,
“Here it is Lord – take it all. I have no idea what to do. I pray that somehow you will help me be excellent.”

In uncertain times, God’s grace and mercy shines brighter. Our Voice Alex shares.
Like most people I look at the events unfolding in front of our eyes: Earthquakes in Haiti, Japan, New Zealand; escalating situation in the Middle East; world-wide economic volatility and can’t help but think about end times. Actually the one thing that I think we can all agree on is that we are living in unprecedented times…

When was the last time you felt truly loved? Not just loved by a girlfriend or boyfriend, or by family and friends, but completely and wholly loved and accepted - beyond measure, beyond what you deserved, and beyond explanation? Our friend Alex shares an incredible story of what it feels like to experience God’s overwhelming love and grace in the most unexpected of times and places.
It was the end of a bad week. Lots of personal failures and feeling so far from meeting the mark. Felt like God was calling me to be so much more and I failed once again.
I had to catch an 8am flight at LAX. I went out hard the night before and woke up at 7:59. I started freaking out – I had to make my flight and get to my destination. I fly a lot and I always make the effort to get to the airport on time. Even this time, I had my routine down, boarding pass done the day before, had my carry-on ready, I was ready to roll. Except I woke up as my flight was taking off because I went partying too long the night before. I was already feeling like a complete failure, now I was a complete failure who missed his flight. “I am such a tool”, I thought to myself.
I got to the airport about 30 minutes after my flight had left. When I got there I never saw a line as big. It was not a holiday or any weather – it was just a lot of people. I got even more discouraged. I started to wait in line. Texted the people who were waiting for me at the destination: “Missed my flight – waiting in line – will see what happens”. The line between me and the counter lasted a total of 45 minutes to 1 hour.
During this entire time, I just kept praying…[click ”Read More” below to continue]

How often do we pray for the ones we love? Our friend Alex shares an encouraging story of how God immediately answered a prayer for his younger sister in a time of need.
Okay - this is a really quick testimony to God’s power. The more I grow in Him - the more amazed I get by His Grace. God is good.
Some background first - My little sister is a genius - High School valedictorian, at Stanford now, double-major, pre-med, etc. We never really got along too well when we were younger growing up on 2 continents - [brothers - you know what I’m talking about when you’re 13 and your sister is 7 - she’s just messing up your game… jk jk :)] I thank God for His mercy and how He is using me and how we’ve grown. Every time I get down and discouraged it seems that God will use me to encourage those around me - including my little sister. Just as a result of that I instantaneously become exponentially happier and more encouraged. God is good.
May I share with you a clear, crisp example of God answering a prayer?
I’ve been praying for my sister to be encouraged. She’s going through a lot right now and I’ve been praying specifically for a clear sign from God to her that He loves her and that He is in complete control.
Sunday night I was praying with a couple of other people and we lifted up this prayer together. It was around 10:30pm. Literally as soon as we were done praying my phone started vibrating. It did it 2 times in a row. I chose to ignore it as I wanted to continue to pay attention to my prayer group. Then it rang a 3rd time. Finally took it out - it was my little sister…[click “Read More” below to continue]
