You Are My Princess, My Bride

Our friends Celine and Leah remind us that God is always with us…we just need to open our eyes.

Our God is a living God; with us every single second of our day. But how easy is it for us to forget that? How easy is it for us to get caught up in our everyday struggles and lose sight of Him? I think we tend to overlook the relationships God has PLACED in our lives. We are in each other’s lives for a reason… to share His love, to help one another grow in His love; our relationships are here to remind us everyday how REAL He is. When we “don’t see him working” in our lives, He is STILL working… we just need to open our eyes.

I was lucky enough to meet my friend Leah through church, only a few months before she moved to Seattle. Ever since she left I’ve been thinking about her, praying that she is coping with her struggles in the new city and settling in just fine. It has been a while since I’ve last spoken to her. With midterm season reaching its peak, my work load has been getting a bit overwhelming. With less time to journal and spend with Him, I’ve been feeling so alone.

But God’s love is so faithful… I can honestly say, He knows me so well. And when they say, He knows our heart’s desires… IT’S TRUE! He let me have my little break down along with a good cry and the next day He has my dear friend Leah send me a message with an update on what’s been going on with her. In her message I found out that everything she has been struggling with has surpassed. Our prayers have been answered. And I am reminded that He is never away from us. This is what she said:

Hope all is well with you. i just want to share a few things with about how God has been working in and molding my heart.

I was struggling with identity issues, well God has broken those chains and showed me who I am, who He designed me to be. One night, as I was talking to God, I asked Him: “Who am I?” He answered: “You are my princess, my bride”. Then, I asked: “Lord, am I strong enough?”, He answered: ” You are a warrior. A princess warrior. You are Leia”. Then I was so fulfilled, knowing who I was, how He saw me. Then my name made sense to me. So, I decided to watch Star Wars. Lol. I know, I have to watch those movies, though. I’m a warrior princess and need to learn how to fight and victorious, THE BIBLE is my book of secrets, that’s where I learn how to fight, but real life is my battle field.

God has been so good to me! Last week I got a part time job, and today I found a place close to school where I’m going to live. It’s amazing how, when we commit our plans to the Lord, he leads our steps and everything goes so smooth! He is so good!

Oh, one more thing I want to share with you. Friday night I went to a Tenth Avenue Concert at Mars Hill Church. It was soo good! When they sang the song “By your side”, the words “My hands are holding you” kept coming to my mind. That night as we were going home, we were following our friend’s car. At one point they decided to swerve to the left to enter a parking lot. A police car was coming very fast from behind and almost hit, we watched in disbelief what happened. But in those moments I was reminded again, “My hands are holding you”. All that night I was so amazed just how god showed me his love.

Then, Sunday morning in church, my niece drew me a picture. It was a police car. Wow, I thought, ok. That’s probably a sign I need to watch out for those police cars.

The day went by, and Monday morning came and I was on my way to school. It was a rainy day. On the freeway, there was a big curb, and I decided to slow down a bit and drive with caution. As I approached the curb, the shoulder was closed, and there was a police car and some towing truck; seeing the police cars, the drivers suddenly braked and slowed down. My car, however, did not want to stop. As the road was slippery, the tires skidded. Then, I knew I was going to hit the car in front of me. In an instant, though, I swerved to the right, and I only scratched the car on the side. We both stopped to see what the damage was. The police was right there, OK, I thought, I’m busted. I anticipated an encounter with the police officer, getting my insurance monthly payment raised, and all those things. God’s plan, however, was not to get me through that process as the driver told me he was not worried about the scratch on his car. God wanted to remind me, over and over again that His hands were holding me. Wow! I’m still thinking about that and thanking God that He made His promises real in my life and that he blessed me so much with his presence and his comforting peace.

I’m telling you, all those crazy things started to happen when I started asking Him to make His word a reality in my life. And you know what? I wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s RISKY to live with such an adventurous God, because you don’t know where he’s going to take you next. But He is fun, and loving and romantic.

As I was driving home from school today, there was such a beautiful sunset, You could see the dark skies of the storm, but kissing the horizon, there was a lighted sky, it was such a beautiful picture! As I was enjoying the view, He told me: “Without a storm, there couldn’t be a contrast between the dark and lighted sky.” And it’s so true.

And last but not least, He is a romancer. Today, after I finished my homework, I saw a heart drawn on my desktop. I smiled. I knew He wanted to remind me how much He loved me!

I hope you are reminded of His love everyday!

- He never fails to amaze me. We can all be reminded everyday of how much He loves us… We just need to start opening our eyes to what He has placed RIGHT IN FRONT of us. My spirits are lifted… I am grateful so grateful for His UNFAILING love. Thank you Jesus for this beautiful reminder.
